A Little About Me:

I’ve lived with type 1 diabetes (T1D) since 2004, and for much of my career I’ve worked in the diabetes space as a writer, editor, content marketing specialist, health coach, and advocate. My focus has always been on creating clear, practical health content people can actually use in their day-to-day lives.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Media and Communication from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point (UWSP). In 2019, I represented the U.S. and spoke to an audience of more than 200 people at a Change.org All Team Retreat, sharing the importance of insulin affordability and accessibility.

Professionally, I serve as Client Content Manager at Diabetes Nerd Marketing and have created more than 1,000 blogs, articles, eBooks, white papers, and social media campaigns since 2015. I’ve held lead roles at organizations including Beyond Type 1 and Edgepark Diabetes, and I currently contribute as a writer to Beyond Type 1 and Type 1 Strong.

Alongside my work in content and advocacy, I’m a MindBodyGreen–Certified Health Coach (CHC) with additional training in Functional Nutrition through MindBodyGreen and Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) through the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. I plan to next pursue the American Diabetes Association’s Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) Lifestyle Coach training.

As the founder of Chronically You, I conduct a remote health and wellness coaching practice based in Wisconsin’s Fox Cities that supports people living with T1D. In addition, I’m the author of the Rosie Becomes a Warrior children’s book series about T1D, available in both English and Spanish.

I value connecting with like-minded professionals and community members who are seeking more compassion, clarity, and understanding in the diabetes space.

My Career Backstory

As a CHC, I'm dedicated to helping adults with type 1 diabetes (T1D) and parents of children with T1D build sustainable habits and reconnect with their sense of self through practical tools, creative reflection, and compassionate accountability.

My work is grounded in more than two decades of lived experience with T1D and a deep understanding of how chronic illness shapes daily life: physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Before founding Chronically You, LLC, I spent over a decade working in marketing and storytelling, mostly for purpose-driven health brands. Over this time, I've honed my ability to translate complex topics into clear, empowering messages.

That background now informs how I coach: blending strategy, creativity, and empathy to help people find clarity, confidence, and sustainable growth.

At my core, I believe change happens through curiosity, not perfection. Whether I’m coaching clients, writing for my blog, or developing health resources, my goal is the same: to help others feel more capable, calm, and connected in their own lives.

I live by a simple philosophy: leave it better than you found it.

From Marketing to Mission-Driven Work

My career has taken me across industries—from fashion, beauty, and entertainment to publishing, medical supply distribution, nonprofits, and healthcare marketing. Each experience taught me how to adapt quickly, think strategically, and lead with creativity and care, especially when working with mission-driven teams dedicated to improving community and patient health.

I began my professional journey on the East Coast, collaborating with executives to refine marketing strategies, strengthen client relationships, and drive growth. Those early experiences shaped my approach: thoughtful, data-informed, and always people-centered.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of helping reimagine Love’s Baby Soft into Eau So Love’s for Dana Classic Fragrances—introducing influencer marketing before it was the norm—developing data-driven audience engagement at Wetpaint, and leading integrated marketing campaigns at Ledgeview Partners (now FORVIS), which contributed to its recognition as a Top Microsoft Partner. My work at Ledgeview earned me the Brooke Webb Smith Memorial Award for multi-functional collaboration, innovating marketing, and social creativity.

One of the most meaningful chapters of my career began at Beyond Type 1, where I helped launch the organization’s first-ever National Diabetes Awareness Month (NDAM) campaign, resulting in record-breaking engagement and national visibility. That experience connected my personal and professional worlds, reaffirming my commitment to using storytelling as a force for diabetes advocacy and positive change.

Today, I use my experiences not only as a coach and storyteller but also as a patient advocate for people with diabetes.

Along the way, I’ve written for outlets such as Her Campus, Insulin Nation, and Thought Catalog, and in 2019, I spoke internationally about the importance of insulin affordability and accessibility at a Change.org All Team Retreat to an audience of over 200 people. In 2021, I published Rosie Becomes a Warrior, a children’s book series created to empower kids with T1D and their families.

Supporting People with T1D One-on-One

Today, as the founder of Chronically You, LLC, my work lives at the intersection of personal health, well-rounded creativity, and community-centered storytelling. I’m currently focused on growing the health and wellness coaching side of my business to support people living with T1D and their families.

As a coach, I don’t provide medical advice or prescriptive guidance. Instead, I help clients build awareness, uncover their own motivations, and strengthen the habits that support their emotional well-being with diabetes—living life less in the extreme mindset and more in the stable middle ground.

I continue to provide content strategy services in a limited capacity—including writing, editing, and content management—for brands that share my passion for meaningful storytelling and positive change.

At its core, Chronically You is about helping people and organizations connect more deeply—with themselves, their purpose, and the impact they want to have in the world.
