Change.org All Team Retreat Speaker, Representing the U.S.A. (Nov. 2019)

In November 2019, I launched the Wisconsin Insulin Price Cap petition—a personal call to action born from years of navigating the high costs of insulin. That effort led to an incredible opportunity: I was invited to speak at Change.org’s All Team Retreat, where I shared my story and advocated for insulin accessibility and affordability in front of more than 200 team members.

Representing the U.S., I joined four other changemakers from around the world, each of us presenting our missions to inspire meaningful change. It was a powerful reminder of how personal stories can drive collective action.

Beyond Type 1 Community Table Host: "Addressing Diabetes Stressors" (Summer 2020)

I hosted an episode of Community Table with Beyond Type 1, fostering an open dialogue where guests shared their personal stories and highlighted the critical role of mental health in managing diabetes.

I had the joy of joining 50 local authors in Appleton, Wisconsin, for The Bookstore Appleton’s Block of Books event. I was there selling copies of my children’s book series, Rosie Becomes a Warrior.

As a content manager at Beyond Type 1, I participated in The Huddle organized by ADCES to discuss the challenges I have faced while navigating the healthcare system. I shared valuable insights and resources to help others overcome similar obstacles with health insurance, promoting understanding and empowerment within the diabetes community.

Promotional Talent: Breakthrough T1D (Formerly JDRF) Wisconsin Gala Video (Spring 2023)

I was invited to participate in a commercial for the Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) Wisconsin One Night Gala in 2023. I joined several other community members who are also impacted by type 1 diabetes. It was the most enjoyable experience I've had as a volunteer and on-screen talent.

Featured Author: Breakthrough T1D (Formerly JDRF) Illinois Type One Nation Summit (Feb. 2024)

In February 2024, I attended the TypeOneNation Summit hosted by the Breakthrough T1D Illinois Chapter. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with children and families affected by type 1 diabetes and to promote my book series, "Rosie Becomes a Warrior," which is available in both English and Spanish.
